Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need an indexing tool?

Getting your website content recognized by search engines like Google, Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam.cz, and Yep can be challenging. CrawlWP is a valuable tool that enhances your website’s SEO by identifying WordPress posts and pages that are not indexed and optionally submitting those pages to search engines on your behalf using the Google, Bing, Yandex, and IndexNow API.

What is IndexNow API ?

IndexNow protocol is an easy way for website owners to instantly inform supported search engines (Microsoft Bing, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex, Yep) about the latest content changes on their website. It is a simple ping so that search engines know that a URL and its content have been added, updated, or deleted, allowing search engines to reflect this change in their search results quickly.

Without IndexNow, it can take days to weeks for search engines to notice content changes, as they don’t frequently crawl every URL. With IndexNow, search engines immediately know about changed URLs, prioritizing their crawling and reducing the time to discover new content.

Is using the Google Indexing API recommended?

Google recommends explicitly using the Indexing API for job posting and live streaming websites; however, it can be utilized for any website. If you’re concerned or want to proceed cautiously, we offer a one-click option to view your WordPress content in Google Search Console. This allows you to request indexing manually, which is a safe approach.

Please note that submitting content via IndexNow or using the Bing and Yandex API is completely safe and recommended.

How long does it take for pages to get indexed?

Waiting for your pages to get indexed can be anxious, but CrawlWP helps speed up this process. Based on our experience, pages usually get indexed within 24 hours of submission, often within a few hours. However, search engines (Google, Microsoft Bing, Yandex, etc) ultimately control the exact timing. CrawlWP automatically checks the live index status of submitted pages, keeping you updated on your current index status.

There is no guarantee, but it increases the odds – and reduces the time it would take otherwise. Search engines will still examine the quality and relevance of your pages.

Do you have access to my website Google Search data?

No, we don’t have your data. All your information is stored on your WordPress server. Your website connects directly to Google Search Console without our involvement. This means your data stays under your control, and we cannot access it.
